Neyer purchased its second lot in Westmoreland Technology Park II. Al. Neyer plans to build a 150,000 SF flex industrial/warehouse building on Lot 16s 14.79 acres. The developer expects to have the shell of the building completed by July 2023. At full occupancy, this facility could support more than 150 jobs. Known as Hempfield Commerce Center II, the project is being built across the street from where the developer recently completed construction of a similar 150,000 SF building that it sold to Flynns Tire in December. Five industrial lots and two commercial lots are available in Tech Park II. Also in August, BHG Properties finalized a deal to buy 3.86 acres in Westmoreland Airpark to build the new home of Latrobe Animal Clinic. Veterinarians Ben and Julie Helmenwho have operated the veterinary practice at the intersection of routes 30 and 981 for the past 10 yearsplan to break ground in April of this year, and they project that the new 6,000-7,000 SF facility will take approximately a year to complete. Westmoreland Airpark is home to 23 businesses that employ more than 320 people. Eight commercial lots are available in the park. Additionally, the groundwork was laid for two other land sales last year. M&G Realty signed an option agreement to purchase Lot 1 at Commerce Crossing at Westmoreland. The property is 21.78 acres, with a pad area of 9.8 acres. In May, Roechling Industrial signed an option agreement to purchase the last available undeveloped property in Westmoreland Technology Park I. Roechling, which already has a facility in the park, started the process to buy a 6.39-acre neighboring lot.
