Al. Neyer is building the 150,000 SF Hempfield CommerceCenter, a speculative flex facility, on the 13.39 acres of Lot 13. Construction is carrying over into 2022. At full capacity, itsexpected to employ more than 150. Work crews made tremendous progress in building the41,000 SF future home of Fossil Industries on the 10.99 acresof Lot 5-R in the park. The start-up manufacturer, which willbuild a variety of consumer products, expects to receive anoccupancy permit in the first quarter of 2022 and already isplanning an 18,000 SF expansion project for 2023. FossilIndustries expects to hire up to 38 workers during its firstfive years of business.Business & Research ParkWestmoreland Business & Research Park was the site of twoexpansions in 2021. Xodus Medical, a manufacturer of medical devices, built a35,000 SF expansion to its facility on Lot 46 in the park,bringing the total square footage of its two buildings in thepark to 98,381. The expansion increased production andwarehouse capacity. Thirty new jobs were created. JK Tool doubled the size of its facility in WestmorelandBusiness & Research Park with a 20,000-SF expansionproject in early 2021. This expansion, combined with thedevelopment of the 6.23-acre lot WAB Associates LLCpurchased last year, will result in owner Weiss-Aug growingits total park employment from 25 to 75 within three tofive years. Jeannette Industrial ParkIn Jeannette Industrial Park, Todd Construction began workin the latter half of 2021 to build a new 4,800 SF facility on LotC. The construction company has outgrown the space that itleases in Jeannette and is building a facility that will includeoffice and warehouse space. The company expects to grow itsroster of employees from its current number of 10. 7'
