Built on a 13-acre site that theWCIDC had redeveloped, the facility will employ about 100 people in well-paying jobs.The property had been home to Jeannette Glasss dilapidated industrial buildings,which were both an eyesore and public safety risk. The WCIDC took ownership of theproperty in 2016 and worked with the state Department of Environmental Protection with funding support from local, county, state and federal sourcesto remediatethe site until we had a brownfield site suitable for redevelopment. We sold the propertyto Elliott in 2018, and they began construction in December 2019.This project was a true public-private partnership. Many individuals and entities identified solutions and invested substantial resourcesand the end result was the transformation of a notoriously blighted property into a site that will create economic and community vitality while presenting opportunity for generations to come.10"
